UMRF Research Park was established in 2019 as a response to the rising need on the UofM campus for a resource that brought together the Memphis entrepreneurial ecosystem and the research capacity of our campus. The research park is a multi-phase effort that includes the pilot facility at the corner of Midland and Highland in the heart of the University District, and a Phase two facility that houses the UMRF Ventures corporation on the UofM South Campus. 

 

The Research Park brings together a new generation of corporate citizens committed to research-driven growth and collaboration with the University of Memphis and our partners.

UMRF Research Park was founded by the team at the FedEx Institute of Technology and the Division of Research and Innovation. It is managed by Mr. Troy Parkes (troy.parkes@memphis.edu) at the University of Memphis. It is rooted in the unique value and resources that a global research institution can leverage in support of driving student opportunity, economic growth, and further revitalization of an already accelerating city.
